I was born in Ravenna in 1959. I’ve started to develop an interest in naturalistic photography in 1977, when I bought my first Reflex camera. I started working for the WWF, publishing brochures and posters.
Over the years, I have worked for the most important nature magazines, including the monthly Oasis, the monthly Geos, the monthly Terra, the periodical Reporter, the monthly Tutti Fotografi and some magazines published by Giorgio Mondadori Editore.
My pictures have been chosen by public institutions and environmental and ornithological associations for nature and tourist publications. Together with Luciano Piazza, I have produced a dozen naturalistic photography audiovisuals.
I take pictures of the natural environment, trying to capture the most significant moments of the life of wild animals. To achieve excellent results, I put together my knowledge of places and animal ethology on one hand and photographic techniques and special equipment on the other. In spite of my long experience in photographing animals in their environment, they never fail to give me new ideas and incentives.
